Biography of Dr. Michael L Schwartz, PMP, PE

Dr. Michael L Schwartz, PE, PMP, has experience in Automotive, Defense, Materials, Food Service, and Insurance industries, among others. Michael has also taught in a variety of venues, including university-level courses and Adult/Continuing Education and Professional Development. He founded Positive Concepts, Inc. to provide training, education, and consulting & coaching services. These services focus on what is often termed “soft skills”, or people skills, and include;

Michael has successfully applied various leadership principles in leading numerous work-groups and project team teams to successful project completion. Michael’s professional assignments have taken him to 24 states, the District of Columbia, and two foreign countries. He is a native New Yorker and resided in South Bend, Indiana before relocating to Troy, Michigan. In his travels to various work locations, he has found that the leadership principles he applies hold true regardless of geographic location or industry.

Michael has taught both graduate and undergraduate business & management course. He has facilitated PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification Exam Preparation courses, has been a team member in development of on-line courses, and has performed quality reviews for on-line course content. He has also done innumerable presentations in his professional career and aa a volunteer speaker for professional organizations and as a community service.

 

Michael received his BS from New York Institute of Technology, his MBA from Indiana University and received his DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) from Lawrence Technological University. His doctoral research was in leadership and motivation. His Professional Engineer status was awarded in Indiana, and his Project Management Professional certification is from the Project Management Institute.

 

Michael is a member of Academy of Management, Project Management Institute, Society of Automotive Engineers, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
